The purpose of didirikannnya School Kindergarten is to accommodate the children of employees PT.TELKOM School attended kindergarten Sandhy Son.

School Kindergarten in particular managed to make progress Sumatra region. At that time, still take shelter in PT.TELKOM Parpostel (Tourism, Post and Telecommunications). Given Telecommunications and Tourism of Indonesia in 1992 is growing rapidly, then arose the desire of the Dharma Wanita to establish schools Telecommunications and Tourism.

Moved with the child calls the Nation, the Telecommunications Engineering School was established with the name of the Son Sandhy STM Telkom and Tourism Industry High School (SMIP) on July 20, 1992.
